Had brunch at this cozy little restaurant in Rowlett that is only open for breakfast and lunch. I love their buttermilk pancakes and since i rarely eat them I usually order the traditional American breakfast with scramble egg, hash browns and a stack and two buttermilk pancakes... all very good. But today I tried their Mexican chorizo skillet with hash browns mixed with chorizo, onions, green peppers, jalapeños and cheese topped with two easy over eggs, a side of homemade salsa and much to my surprise I got and additional breakfast side of fluffy buttermilk pancakes. Seems like an odd combination but the sweet and savory mixed really well together. Great breakfast spot!
The food was good. The service was great. Clean cafe. Busy but was seated right away.

I'm there for Wednesday morning meeting with a group. Our waitress goes above and beyond and the food is always great.
Always a great spit for a hot, delicious breakfast! On this visit, Elise and the team took great care of us! Bacon always crispy, never greasy! The eggs & pancakes are fluffy, and the grits buttery! Top it all off with the incredible service from Elise and wooooow factor in progress!!!!!!!
Great breakfast! Eggs, bacon and an English muffin ! Waitress was very kind and fast. Would go again. Why go fast food when we have such a nice cafe??
This is my second trip to Lakewood Cafe and it was just as good the second time. Waitress took my order and kept my coffee full. The food was cooked well and there was plenty. I was there early so it wasn't packed. I'll be back.
Back in 2017 I wrote a review. The place has stepped up its game; looks a lot better, the service is just fine, I didn't see any unhappy people at tables, the place was packed. The food was good. I think they even updated the booths. We have only been there for breakfast which never disappoints. Hoping to make it over there for lunch this week (oh the silverware was shiny too :-)
Great food. We had the meat omlette with corned beef beef hash and rye. All were delicious. The omlette is big and totally filling. Also had the chicken fried steak with mash and green beans . Grean beans came with fresh tomatoes on it which added a freshness to the dish. Steak was cook to perfection and had an appropriate amount of gravy. The mash had a flavor of some herb i couldnt quite make out. Not bad tho. Service was super fast and the place is very clean.
